NOTES ON PART ID
This pronunciation glossary is something you can keep by you as you proceed through the year. It contains most of the words in Gaelic or Cymraeg (Welsh) that you will encounter, so you can pronounce them properly. It accompanies Episode 1 of the Podcast for this course. I know that is always a bother when a name stops you dead and you have no clue how to say it. Written guides to pronunciation like this can only be approximate, of course: speakers of Gaelic and Cymraeg from different regions have their own distinct pronunciation, but you will be understood if you use these guides. I am speaking this list on a podcast that will come along soon, so that you can repeat the word after me and speak it aloud for yourself.
Inevitably, as we travel through this year, other names may well occur, as I include other stories, myths and poems into this series, but I will note any additional names that fall outside this glossary so that you have a sense of how they are pronounced.
