Many people today who have turned to a more ancient and traditional form of spirituality as an adult have not been given the teaching about offerings that they might have received had they grown up within that tradition. There remains some uncertainty about offerings today, what they are, how and why we do them, and so I am answering some basic questions here that I hope may help open up the topic to scrutiny and deeper thought, as well as to some common-sense practices. But we start with a look at ancient and traditional offerings first.
